Design Strategy
Based on the 2nd brief: Agenda for Sustainability, my project revolves around the United Nations 14thSustainable Development Goal: Life Below Water, focused on implementing conservations strategies and methods of structural transformation to ensure the protection and sustainable use of the world’s oceans, seas and marine resources. The ocean, our world’s largest ecosystem, is not just a vast expanse of water, but an engine sustaining all life on earth, and the origin from which all systems thrive. I chose to design a campaign that would not only promote, but build a culture of ocean conservation. I designed the host of the campaign to be an NGO called WE THE PEOPLE who launch the #oceans14challange. The challenge calls for people to partake in a two-week event, where they’re prompted with a simple goal or task every day for 14 days, all centred around sustainable habits and activities that help anyone to nurture the ocean.
